Esse Health Providers Recognized for Diabetes Care
ST. LOUIS – Esse Health is proud to announce that 19 of its medical providers, including physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants, have received three-year recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance Diabetes Recognition Program. Almost all of Esse Health’s internal and family medicine providers have received recognition since the independent physician group began the process of submitting applications three years ago. Esse Health will continue to submit applications for new providers and for those whose three-year recognition is about to expire.
NCQA’s Diabetes Recognition Program recognizes clinicians who have met standards demonstrating delivery of high-quality care to patients with diabetes. Clinicians who achieve DRP Recognition show their peers, patients and others in the Diabetes community that they are part of an elite group that is publicly recognized for its skill in providing the highest-level diabetes care.
“There is a diabetes epidemic in the United States and worldwide. It is a disease that can happen at any age to anyone,” said Kathleen Brunts, M.D., Esse Health internal medicine physician and leader of Esse Health’s Taking Care of Diabetes Program. “I’m proud that so many of our providers have achieved this recognition. Our patients can trust that we are providing them with the highest quality of care. With our care and their hard work, our patients with diabetes can lead healthy, productive lives.”
The list of providers who received this recognition over the last 12 months include: Dr. Scott Anderson, Dr. Kathleen Brunts, Dr. Susan Colbert-Threats, Dr. James Ebel, Dr. Mike Fedak, Dr. Brett Foersterling, Dr. Thomas Hastings, Dr. Todd Hammond, Dr. Stephen Knapp, Dr. Sean McLaughlin, Dr. Dion Miranda, Dr. Richard Muchnick, Dr. Dennis Patton, Dr. Mark Pelikan, Meredyth Schroyer, PA, Lisa Schultz, FNP, Dr. Jennifer Sewing, Dr. Elizabeth Tracy, and Dr. Ronald Wepprich.
