Two high profile topics expected to be handled during Monday's Creve Coeur City Council agenda were instead not on the agenda.

At the request of Delmar Gardens representatives, the Planning and Zoning Commission's vote of a negative endorsement for the company's plans for assisted and independent living facilities and a single-family development on Ladue Road near Interstate 270 was withheld until December 10.

The 5-0 P&Z vote earlier this month came as several panelists voiced support for the project, but voted in opposition because it conflicted with goals in the city's Comprehensive Plan.

Tuesday afternoon, Delmar Gardens executive Howard Oppenheimer said the firm wasn't prepared to be on Monday's agenda and that while they haven't decided how to proceed yet, they do intend to move forward. 

Also not appearing on the agenda was the introduction of an ordinance to limit funeral protests. Ward 2 Councilwoman Tara Nealey proposed the law in the wake of a federal appeals court decision upholding the city of Manchester's ordinance. It is designed to to quell groups like the Westboro Baptist Church, which often protests military funerals and schools over gay rights issues.

Both items will appear on the December 10 agenda.
