McQueen said a resident in the complex admitted that he fell asleep while smoking and that the man tried to put the fire out with water and blankets. Firefighters were called at 2:20 Thursday morning and found fire on every level of the three story complex.

Six units are uninhabitable. McQueen said the man would not be charged with a crime and that the fire would be ruled accidental.
