Missouri Democrats Liken Rush Bust Debate To Jesse James

A letter to Missouri House Speaker Steven Tilley says "fame alone" has not been the standard of enshrinement for the Hall of Famous Missourians.

In a letter Tuesday to Missouri House Speaker Steven Tilley signed by every Democrat in the General Assembly, including Creve Coeur State Rep. Jill Schupp, lawmakers called on Tilley to pull back on plans to honor broadcaster Rush Limbaugh in the Hall of Famous Missourians.

Limbaugh, a conservative commentator, has been under fire for comments he made about a Georgetown University law student who was advocating for insurance coverage of contraception before a Congressional panel. Limbaugh labeled the woman a "slut".

Limbaugh issued an apology over the weekend. Some advertisers, including AOL, parent company of Creve Coeur Patch, have pulled their ads from his program.

The letter from lawmakers, according to FOX2 News, said "honoring Limbaugh in the wake of this incident woud be seen as a tacit endorsement of his misogynistic attitudes," and that if fame alone were the qualifier Frank and Jesse James would have already been inducted.

What do you think should happen?

I would think democrats would be advocating for the induction of the James brothers in the MO hall of fame. They robbed trains and banks stealing from the big, bad train barons and wealthy bankers and gave the money to the poor people of the Ozarks. Isn't that what democrats do?

If Ms. Fluke wants to be promiscuous, good for her but let her pay for her own contraception and not sponge off of us taxpayers.
