Pujols Foundation Hoops Event A Slam Dunk In Creve Coeur

Albert's All-Star Hoops event at Missouri Baptist University showcased athletes with Down Syndrome.

He may have traded his red and white Cardinals jersey for one in California, but Albert Pujols' foundation still appears to have a firm place in St. Louis.

The Pujols Family Foundation, which was created in part to bring awareness to those with Down syndrome, held an all-star basketball game Sunday night at Missouri Baptist University's Student Recreation Center in Creve Coeur. The game featured celebrities like Olympian Jackie Joyner-Kersee, and former Rams cornerback Aeneas Williams, among others, along with athletes with Down syndrome.

Pujols, who The Los Angeles Times reported had minor knee surgery October 9, was also on the court.

This event christened the new Missouri Baptist University gym last fall, just hours after the Cardinals World Series parade and celebration at Busch Stadium.
