Time To Gear Up For Creve Coeur Days

Annual event featuring a carnival and parade returns next month.

More than 40 years ago, city leaders wanted to figure out a way to celebrate the opening of the Olive Blvd. interchange at I-270. What began then as a parade has turned into a four day carnival, plus the parade, and will return again, May 19-22.

For the third and final year, the carnival is being housed on the grounds of Barnes Jewish West Hospital at Olive Blvd. and Mason Rd.

The event, which has raised thousands of dollars for charities around the St. Louis region over the years, has seen increased attendance since it made the move to the BJC campus, event spokesperson Ed Farber said.

Previous homes for Creve Coeur Days have included areas of the city where Fountain Park, Kohl's, and The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center are currently located, as well as the Monsanto Parking Lot.

Organizers are interested in hearing from organizations who want to have a booth at the Midway or participate in the parade. This year's parade route will take participants from Pulaski Bank westbound on Olive Blvd. pat Mason Rd.

Do you know why they never turn on the fountain in Fountain Park? and why they don't plant any flowers or landscape the park?
