About this column:

A look at how other media outlets covered news of interest to Creve Coeur residents.
Every day, Creve Coeur Patch strives to keep you posted on what's going on around our community. We're proud of the work we do, but we know that we're not the only ones who endeavor to do that. It is in that spirit then, that we highlight other media outlets in the area who caught something we thought was worth passing along. Fresh of the company's appearance in last week's CEO Soapbox here on Patch, Oakwood Systems' move to a new location on Emerson Road was featured in the St. Louis Business Journal. (Subscription required). The St. Louis Jewish Light profiled a Creve Coeur resident who has…
We begin our weekly look back at how some news of interest to Creve Coeur was covered by other media outlets with attention being paid to a pharmaceutical firm located in unincorporated West St. Lous County near the city. Highland Pharmaceuticals is getting media coverage from the St. Louis Beacon and The Riverfront Times because of the company's claims that it can manufacture a "tamper-proof pill," one which meth cooks could not break down for ingredients. Company officials told the Beacon they are pursuing independent testing. Shifting gears, the Ladue School District's Early Childhood …
The news about organizations and residents in Creve Coeur was a mixed bag this past week. Here are five that we highlight: The Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry, located off Schuetz Road, has outgrown its current space and will be moving. When it first started 20 years ago, the pantry fed 150 people a month; it’s now up to over 4,000 a month. Read the entire story here: Jewish Food Pantry plans to move from JF&CS building. Ladue graduate, Becky Sauerbrunn, discussed her experience as a member of the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team and her journey to the FIFA World Cup. She was interviewed on St. …

The dome has been the site for state championship play, but the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that De Smet and Pattonville have been selected to play in the inaugural Great American Football Classic September 10. Pattonville will the day with a matchup against McCluer North, while De Smet challenges rival CBC in the nightcap.   BUSINESS: Creve Coeur-based Pulaski Financial reported earnings after the bell on …
Each week, we're working hard to produce stories that matter to you and are worth your attention. We realize we aren't the only ones in that endeavor. This week, the spotlight shines on a Creve Coeur company which is helping neighbors to the north recover from recent flooding, to a hack attack at a company headquartered in the city, plus one local organization that gets high marks as a workplace. Check out the reporting from KTVI/FOX2's Teresa Woodard, who highlighted work being done by Molina Healthcare of Missouri, based in Creve Coeur, to help some families impacted by recent flooding in …
Each week, we're working hard to produce stories that matter to you and are worth your attention. We realize we aren't the only ones in that endeavor. This week, some of the other reporting comes from the local area, but in at least one case, a national publication chose to shine a light on a Creve Coeur area high school student. We'll start there. The July 11 issue of PEOPLE Magazine is expected to tell the story of De Smet's Rickey Spratley and Ladue's Antoine Evans. KSDK's Sharon Stevens reported on the recognition for the young men who have overcome early adversity in their lives. WEST …
Every day, we do a large amount of our own reporting on issues of interest to city residents, businesses, schools, and other organizations. But we're not afraid to highlight the reporting done by other media outlets.  We're using this space to share some of that work, and other items of interest that we've come across impacting people in and around Creve Coeur. NEWS: In a larger story talking about communities offering online payment options for paying traffic court fines, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch included Creve Coeur's agreement with trafficpayment.com which just recently went into effect…
