5 Reasons To Take Fido Shopping at The New West County Outlet Mall

The new Taubman Prestige Outlets center is billing itself as a dog friendly place to go shopping and even has a "Doggie Hall of Fame."

The Taubman Prestige Outlets in the Chesterfield Valley invites pets to walk through with their owners.

The outlet center is billing itself as a "dog-friendly" zone where shoppers and their puppy pals can go browsing. They have even put together a "Canine Code of Conduct" to spell out the rules.

In case you still need convincing, here are five reasons to bring your pooch along with you on your retail excursion:

1) Thirsty dogs will be able to quench their throats, thanks to several drinking stations sprinkled throughout the complex.

2) The policy means your likely won't be the only shopper with a canine companion, so it's a good way for your pet to make new friends.

3) You will even be able to do more than just window shop. Stores that will allow dogs inside will have signs on their entrance doors, according to Taubman.

4) The outlet's dedication to dogs extends to a "Doggie Hall of Fame," located at the far east end of the complex, that features photos of local pets and their owners. There's already a number of pictures up, (including St. Louis' favorite pup, "Trooper"), and you can add your own as well

5) It should be a safe place for all dogs, with the code of conduct having several safeguards. Most importantly, all owners are legally responsible for their dog's behavior and for cleaning up after them (you can find disposable bags at those previously mentioned drinking stations).
