40 South News & boycotting AOL

Doug Miner, local editor has picked up the local Maplewood Brentwood coverage.  This is a result of AOL's greed, and the firing of the entire STL editorial staff.  What you post here, will be edited by people without any local ties.  Please "like" facebook's new page by Doug, "40 South News" to stay in touch with local affairs.  AOL is disgraceful for ignoring the value of locally informed personel covering local events and news.  SHAME ON YOU AOL.

AOL's greed? So they're supposed to be in business to lose money no matter what? Patch.com NEVER MADE A PROFIT

GREED: pure and simple. Why did they not ask for subscription fees? Why just PULL THE PLUG on local editorial influence? GREED--no imagination; just profit margin. Don't know how your area used the Patch, but it was the "go to" place for Maplewood-Brentwood hot topic politics. Some issues started by Doug Miner, our LOCAL editor stretched into 50+ responses. AOL just started one more (virtual) lame stream media. I hope they go belly up wallowing in their greed. I quite mean that. Mr. Simon, this is not personal to you----but you do not know how Maplewood Brentwood operated--and how LOCAL EDITORS had their fingers on the pulse of local issues. I am researching AOL so my boycott can be inclusive. And I will post everything I learn. This isn't my first corporate boycott---and they all boil down to GREED. I hope i do not offend you, but this is my plan--and AOL=GREED
