No Creve Coeur Days Parade This Year

The four-day carnival moves to De Smet in June.

A search for a new home for Creve Coeur Days festivities forced organizers to move the annual May event to June The extra time was not enough to keep the traditional parade intact for 2012.

Ed Farber, a Creve Coeur Days spokesperson, confirmed the news late Wednesday, but said the parade would return in 2013.

"We’d be very interested in hearing suggestions on what to add to the four-day event to make it even better, fresher, not necessarily carnival related," Farber said in an email to Patch.

t when it was feared this year's carnival would be wiped out while organizers tried to find a new location. 

Farber reiterated Wednesday that the event is not a function of the city of Creve Coeur. Proceeds from the carnival go to area charities.

The Board in charge of Creve Coeur Days announced officers for the 2012-2013 year: 

  • Steven Tockman, President
  • Roger Levy, Vice President
  • Jan Becker, Secretary 
  • Joan Beal, Treasurer
