Religious Roundup: Warm Meals, Marriage Sunday and More

"Creve Coeur Patch" rounds up weekly news, notes and current bulletins for local churches and synagogues.

Is something special happening this week at your church or synagogue? Here are a few facts we picked up from this week’s bulletins for Creve Coeur churches and synagogues, as well as links to help you learn more.

  • —This month’s Warm Meals mission is scheduled for Monday, June 25, and Our Lady is seeking volunteers to help feed the hungry by helping prepare or purchase food. Learn more in this week’s bulletin.
  • —St. Anselm is holding a St. Vincent de Paul meeting on Saturday at 8 a.m. Check out the details of this and many other events in this week’s bulletin.
  • —St. Monica’s soccer and volleyball registrations are open. You can register online at St. Monica’s website. The last day to register without a late fee is June 22. See this week’s bulletin for additional information.
  • —If you’ve lost a jacket, sweater, umbrella or other personal item, you might have left it in the coatroom after attending a Traditional Congregation meeting. Also, there are several pairs of sunglasses and tallit clips in the office—so if you’ve left something, pick it up when you can. Learn more at the Traditional Congregation’s website.
  • —Next Sunday is Marriage Sunday at St. Paul’s. The church will honor those with marriages of 25, 50 and more than 50 years, and Pastor Mark and the Ambassadors of Harmony will surprise the congregation with a special love song.   • —Parkway Baptist will participate in a senior adult prayer breakfast on Friday at Parker Road Baptist Church. The vans will pull out of the parking lot at 8:15 a.m. for those who need transportation, and the program runs from 9 to 11 a.m. The cost is $4.50 per person.  Check out this week’s bulletin for additional information.
  • —Holy Cross is holding an adult bible study on Sunday at 9:45 a.m., and don’t forget to stop by the summer coffee fellowship between services.  Here’s where you’ll find this week’s bulletin for more information.
  • Temple Israel is holding a Spirituality of Motherhood Class on June 22 at 10:30 a.m. For more information on this and other events, visit the temple’s website.
  • Temple Emanuel—Families are invited to participate in Sunday morning Religious School activities, including a continental bagel breakfast at 9 a.m., followed by the family worship service at 9:30 and Religious School at 10. Learn more at the temple’s website.
  • —Shaare Emeth will celebrate the Bar Mitzvah of Brett Dale Sayre, son of Linda Sayre, on Saturday at the Goldman Union Camp Institute. Also, at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary, Jacob Alexander Sacks, son of Kelly and Robert Sacks, will become a Bar Mitzvah. Learn more in the June bulletin.   • —There’s still time to register for summer camp at B’Nai Amoona. Session number one has already started, but session two won’t begin until July 9. Check out the June bulletin for additional information and to make reservations.
