Teri Griege at London Marathon: 'Boston in Our Hearts'

The cancer survivor/elite athlete finished the "Grand Slam" of marathon events.

Creve Coeur residents Teri and Dave Griege finished the London Marathon on Sunday with "Boston in our hearts" according to a tweet and photo she posted on Twitter.

The pair planned to leave on Thursday, three days after the end of the Boston Marathon and the horrific bombing near the finish line there that killed three and injured dozens.

Teri Griege, who has fought and continues to receive treatment for stage 4 colon cancer to return to elite athlete status, rounded out her "Grand Slam" of marathons with the London event on Sunday.

It was David's first marathon, but Teri has run in the Chicago, Boston, New York City and , as well as the Ironman World Championship.

Teri finished the London Marathon with a time of 05:38:46. David's time was 05:29:39.

Afterward, Teri tweeted, "London Marathon-check. Boston in our hearts. Great day#poweredbyhope."
