Changing Of The Guard: Sculpture Art Comes Down In Creve Coeur

The pieces could be replaced by others from the Laumeier Sculpture Park.

After almost a year on display at the Creve Coeur Government Center, a pair of Felipe Linares paper mache sculptures in the lobby on loan from the were taken down Tuesday.

The display has been part of a larger effort to encourage art in the community.

The city recently formed an Arts Commission, which will also explore the idea of a second loan arrangement for different works from Laumeier in addition to other responsibilities, including advising city leaders on how art could be commissioned and funded, as well as how art factors into development.
