Music at the Court of Emperor Joseph I, 1705-1711

This concert will feature music of Joseph and his court composers, as well as the U.S. premier of a cantata by Francesco Bartolomeo Conti, newly edited for this performance. Also noteworthy are excerpts of Johan Joseph Fux's poemetto dramatico "Iulo Ascanio, Re d'Alba" first performed to celebrate Joseph's Name Day in 1708.

The Collegium Vocale of Saint Louis specializes in the performance of music of the Baroque period accompanied by historic instrumentalists.
