ALDI in Creve Coeur: All Talk?

The grocer has not filed formal plans for the former Borders Bookstore site.

It might not qualify as a false alarm, but don't go scouring ALDI circulars just yet looking for bargains in Creve Coeur.

City Community Development Director Paul Langdon told Patch Monday night that the company and the firm's architects have been in touch with the city asking questions, even providing would-be designs for the property, but that nothing in the way of permits or plans of an official nature had been filed with the city.

A message seeking comment from the commercial developer for the site, which has been vacant since Borders closed in September, was not returned Monday.
