Change At 101 ESPN: Post-Dispatch Writer Jeremy Rutherford In; Tom Casey Out

Also, Bob Ramsey's contract was reportedly not renewed at the Creve Coeur radio station.

Just in time for the start of an abbreviated National Hockey League season, Creve Coeur-based 101 ESPN has made a change to bolster the station's puck coverage.

Jeremy Rutherford, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Blues Hockey Beat writer, joins the station as a "Blues Insider", contributing analysis on the station's broadcasts. He was heard on the station's airwaves Monday.

On the air, the station revealed he'll also host St. Louis Faceoff Today on the station, Sundays from 12 p.m.-2 p.m, with St. Louis Blues play-by-play announcer John Kelly.

Tom Casey, who had served as the station's Blues Insider in addition to anchoring sports news updates throughout the day, is no longer with the station. Casey confirmed the news on his Facebook page, saying he had "fond memories, feelings from the last 4+ years at 101 ESPN. Still much to look forward to in 2013."

Meanwhile, the Post-Dispatch reports that the station did not renewe the contract of Bob Ramsey, who started at the station as an afternoon drive co-host before being moved to an evening slot last year.

Ramsey, a Pattonville High School graduate, is still the voice of St. Louis University Men's Basketball which airs on 101. The paper suggested there were still discussions about Ramsey's role at the station.
