Coming Attractions: Another Place To Paint and Party; A Knife Shop Looks For A Cut Of Creve Coeur

CUTCO Cutlery, a company which sells knives, kitchen accessories and cookware, is coming to Creve Coeur next month, in the former CityPlace home of .
CUTCO has to this point sold products through in-home visits by college students, but will use the Creve Coeur location to launch its fourth retail outlet, scheduled for a soft launch April 15. A grand opening is planned for April 24-25.
District Manager Justin Donald told Patch the company-owned store here will be within minutes of 120,000 CUTCO customers in the St. Louis area. A full-time store manager will start with two part-time employees, he said. The 2,900 square foot space will also be home to CUTCO's direct sales operation.

The Olean, NY-based firm also has retail stores in Indianapolis (IN), Lansing (MI) and Erie (PA).
Store hours will be 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Noon-5 p.m. Sunday.

POTBELLY GETS THE OK
Elsewhere in CityPlace, the location planned for the former Provisions Market location got final approval from Creve Coeur City Council for a Conditional Use Permit Monday.
Franchise owner Todd Stimson took a break from out of town training in preparation for the restaurant to attend Monday's meeting. The restaurant is scheduled for an early July opening.
FIRED UP
A soft opening is planned for Monday at the newest store in the Bellerive shopping area near Mason Rd. and Olive Boulevard. That Painting Spot, is opening next door to . Sisters Julie Campbell and Jan Daugherty are behind the enterprise, which aims for a family friendly environment to paint ceramic pieces. You paint it, they glaze it, and 7-10 days later you've got a customized masterpiece.
There are also plans to host parties and special group outings.
Hours will be 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 12 p.m.- 5 p.m. Sunday.
