Another sandwich shop has its eyes set on locating in Creve Coeur, or in this case, coming back. Brian Gambino, a local franchisee for Mr. Goodcents, has petitioned the city for a conditional use permit to open at 623 New Ballas Rd.
A former Mr. Goodcents franchise was located in the 11900 block of Olive Boulevard.
Gambino said the city's daytime workplace population is what attracted him, with opportunities to use catering and delivery to re-introduce the sandwich chain's brand, which has added wraps and toasted subs since it was last in Creve Coeur.
The restaurant will appear before Creve Coeur Planning and Zoning Commission officials May 21 to discuss the conditional use permit.

That same night, the commission will also hold a public hearing on a request for a text amendment which would eliminate a provision in "MX" zoned areas, which limit food and drinking establishments to 25 percent of a building's total footprint.
The request comes from the Shoppes at Westgate, L.L.C., which already has approximately 24 percent of its space in that category thanks to and . According to documents in the request, a vacancy in the center has attracted interest from a sandwich shop and "a donut bakery business."
Westgate's attorney, , told Patch even with the amendment, proposed uses in "MX" areas would still be judged through the Conditional Use Permit process, including a project's ability to provide adaquate parking.
