Midwest Institute For Addiction Finds Home In Creve Coeur

The treatment center held a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting Tuesday.

About four months after opening in Creve Coeur in an office park at 711 Old Ballas Road, Midwest Institute For Addiction is now open in a new suite in the same building.

The held a ribbon cutting for the new business Tuesday morning.

The facility's President, Matt Silva, said the business was attracted to Creve Coeur due in large part to the medical infrastructure already in place in the area, along with Creve Coeur's centralized location in the greater St. Louis region, since Silva said issues tied to addiction are not confined to inner city areas.

According to his biography on the company's website, Silva's experience with treating addiction came about as a result of his own battle with addiction.

MIA's team includes Vice President Scott McKinney, a one-time Special Operations Marine and a team of counselors.

That's fantastic! It's often nearly impossible for rehab clinics to open up in a given area, especially when they offer methadone treatment and other maintenance options for struggling addicts. Hopefully more cities follow suit and allow wider access to treatment. http://recoveryfirst.org/choosing-the-right-clinic-for-inpatient-drug-treatment.html/
