Missouri Journal: Ceridian Closing Creve Coeur Doors
Payroll services firm is the second Creve Coeur company in recent weeks to announce a mass layoff.
A provider of payroll services and human resources plans to close its doors in Creve Coeur.
plans to layoff 200 employees in August, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filing posted Thursday by the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
The WARN Act requires employers to provide a 60-day notice in advance of covered plant closings and mass layoffs.

This is the fourth notice filed by employers across Missouri this month, affecting 744 workers. Last month, employers filed nine mass layoff notices, affecting 2,429 employees.
Seven layoff notices were filed during February, affecting 614 workers.

Only three layoff notices were filed in January, impacting 229.
As Missouri Journal reported earlier this week, the unemployment rate increased in every metropolitan area across the state during February.
Statewide, the unemployment rate fell to 7.4 percent in February. However, the state labor force dropped by 9,618. To be considered unemployed, a person must be actively seeking employment.
