Neighbors Meet With Tealwood Senior Living Facility Backers

The Creve Coeur project will be the subject of a public hearing September 19.

Creve Coeur residents who have concerns about a proposed senior living facility off Lindbergh Boulevard have reportedly won a concession from developers behind the project.

The St. Louis Business Journal reports that neighbors of the potential facility, slated where the Tealwood Square Shopping Plaza currently sits, met with members of the team behind the development Monday night.

The publication reports that after hearing from residents worried about traffic issues on Beaver Drive, project backers promised that all access to the facility would come from Lindbergh Boulevard.

Plans for the project have not yet been vetted by Creve Coeur's Planning and Zoning Commission or City Council, which will have the final say. Video from the Monday meeting showed that both Ward 1 City Council members (David Kreuter and Cynthia Kramer) were in attendance.

In an email, Kreuter told Patch Wednesday that between 50 and 75 people were at the meeting, and that he and Kramer were encouraged that the developer and residents were working together on compromises for the proposal.

A request for a variance for the project will be the subject of a public hearing in front of the city's board of adjustment September 19 at 7 p.m. at the Creve Coeur Government Center.
