New Walgreens Opens In Creve Coeur

Store opened at 6:45 a.m. Friday.

The city of Creve Coeur now has a drive-thru pharmacy. , formerly located at 11015 Olive Blvd. for more than two decades, opened a new location next door at the newly configured intersection at Olive and Graeser Friday.

City officials and Chamber of Commerce dignitaries were on hand for a late morning ribbon cutting, but the store itself opened at 6:45 a.m., with about 8 people waiting outside, according to store manager Kevin Block. He said the first purchase was a Red Bull energy drink.

In addition to the drive thru, the new pharmacy will be staffed 24 hours.

"We weren’t able to offer all the services to be as convenient as possible for our customers, so to be able to offer things like drive thru and different services that we couldn’t offer due to limitations over there," said market Vice President Scott Haynes. "We feel very good about being able to serve customers that much better here in Creve Coeur."

The new location employs approximately 45 people, five more than the former location.
