Ray's Donuts Now Aims For Opening Around November 1

Permit issues have delayed plans to open in Creve Coeur.

Fans of Ray's Donuts will have to wait a little longer.

The bakery was beset by problems getting permits in order on renovations to the location at the Shoppes at Westgate, west of Interstate 270 on Olive Boulevard. That prompted a "Stop Work Order" by St. Louis County officials in mid-September.

Bill Risberg, who handles operations for the company here, said they're ready to put the "finishing touches" on the site as the permit issues are resolved. "We're trying to move as quickly as we can with the constraints we were given," he said.

Risberg said Ray's will "almost certainly" open the week of October 29.
