Rothman Mattress Store Celebrates Opening In Creve Coeur

Rothman Mattress, the family-owned furniture retailer's first venture into a mattress-only sales atmosphere, held a ribbon cutting in Creve Coeur Thursday morning to show off the store.

Housed in the former Lenny's Sub Shop space along Olive Boulevard, the store was a source of minor controversy when the owners disagreed with city planners over the kind of signage they could have at the site.

The two sides ulitmately agreed that the store could have a total of 50 square feet in sign space, directly facing Olive Boulevard as well facing eastbound on Olive Boulevard.

Jay Steinback, Rothman's owner said Thursday the signs weren't quite ready but would be 30 ft. and 20 ft.
