St. Luke's Confirms New Creve Coeur Plans

An outpatient imaging facility is due to be open in 2014.

Earlier this week, Patch reported on construction progress at the corner of New Ballas Road and Olive Boulevard at the site formerly anchored by the Borders Bookstore.

Patch has now confirmed specifics behind St. Luke's plans for the former Fitness Showcase space next door to the ALDI grocer. Here's what a spokeswoman relayed to us, courtesy of Chrissi Blake, St. Luke’s Hospital Assistant Director of Outpatient Services:

"Construction began this week on Open Upright MRI of Missouri located at 11737 Olive Blvd, Creve Coeur. The facility will offer Missouri’s first Open Upright MRI technology. Open MRI scanners offer claustrophobic patients the best alternative to high-field imaging. For most exams, nothing is in front of the patient’s face, and they can even watch TV. This scanner also offers unique positional imaging capabilities – patients can be scanned sitting, standing or in other positions if they feel pain. Open Upright MRI of Missouri will open in early 2014.
