Long Term Health Care Group Told LTC Planning Critical To Help Missouri Families

One of the top Long Term Care specialists in Missouri, Mary Ann DeKing, told a large crowd at the American Association for Long Term Care Insurance’s (AALTCI) summit on Long term Care solutions in Kansas City that insurance specialists, financial advisors and other planners need to focus on the need for Long Term Health Care Planning because of the impact extended care has on assets and the burden it creates when loved ones have to deal with a Long Term Care event.

“Long Term Care Insurance is an affordable way for Americans to plan for the physical, emotional and financial burdens Long Term Health Care can have on family and loved ones. But the important key is to start with a plan which may, or may not, include Long Term Care Insurance,” said DeKing.

Mary Ann DeKing is a nationally recognized expert on Long Term Health Care Planning. Her firm, Plan and Care, Inc., helps Missouri individuals and families (and those all of the country) discover their planning options and find affordable solutions so they can protect their assets and make sure family members and loved ones are never burdened because of a Long Term Care event. Her website, www.planandcare.com allows consumers around the country to learn more about this important issue.

“Too many Americans are not well informed and it is up to advisors to provide accurate information to their clients. Many consumers think that Long Term Care Insurance is expensive or they think don’t need it because of government programs or other types of insurance. The fact is Long Term Care Insurance is very affordable if designed correctly with an insurance company which matches the consumer’s age and health profile,” DeKing said.

DeKing also mentioned that other solutions exist in addition to Long Term Care Insurance. A true specialist in Long Term Health Care planning can provide a consumer with accurate information and affordable options so they can make an informed decision.

The American Association for Long Term Care Insurance (AALTCI) was established in 1998 and advocates for the importance of Long Term Care planning and supports insurance professionals who market the complete range of planning products. Their summits brings professionals in all areas of Long Term Care together to help educate professionals of the latest trends in this area.

DeKing suggests consumers seek specialists, like herself, who understand the planning options and know how these plans get used at the time of claim. DeKing represents the top insurance companies in the industry and educates consumers nationwide with her unique approach which avoids the long sales presentation in someone's home. This approach allows her client’s to see her computer screen as they, on the telephone, learn about their options and shop all the top companies to find the best coverage at the best value.

DeKing says this is a private and confidential way to learn, plan and care for the future. Since most insurance agents are not as skilled in this area, it allows her to assist individuals throughout the country. This way a consumer can meet with just one person who happens to be a specialist. This makes it easy, safe and convenient.

"Most people should start planning when they are younger and healthier. This provides a consumer with more affordable options. Since this is a major part of retirement planning people should plan sooner than later. A Long Term Care policy is asset protection for your 401k and other retirement savings as well as a way to be sure you will never be a burden on loved ones," DeKing said.
