Three New Activities for Creve Coeur Days 2013

In response to suggestions from Creve Coeur Patch readers and others, the planners of Creve Coeur Days have included three new activities for Creve Coeur Days 2013. The annual event will be held June 13,14,15, and 16 on the campus of De Smet Jesuit High School, 233 N. New Ballas Rd. The events are a Pet Show, a Kids Bike Parade and a special Father’s Day Prize Drawing.

The Creve Coeur Days Pet Show will be held on Saturday, June 15 with registration beginning at 10:30 am and show time at 11:00 am. The location of the pet show is immediately north of the Ballas Rd. entrance to De Smet. There will be six fun categories in the informal show: Best Costumed Pet, Best Owner/Pet Lookalike, Best Pet Other Than a Dog or Cat, Best Dog, Best Cat and Best Trained Pet. Ribbons and prizes will be awarded to winners. The show is open to all kinds of pets including dogs, cats and critters. All pets must be on a leash or in a container, and owners should be prepared to clean up after their pets.

The Kids Bike Parade also will be held on Saturday, June 15 with registration beginning at 12:30 pm and the parade at 1:00 pm on the parking lot at DeSmet. Kids ages 4-12 and any kind of bike may enter. Bike riders are urged to decorate their bikes imaginatively with balloons, crepe paper, flags and anything else they can think of. Parents may help decorate. Spectators are invited to bring a chair and a cheering section. All riders must wear safety helmets. In conjunction with the Kids Bike Parade there will be a helmet safety inspection provided by Children’s Hospital starting at 12:30 if enough parents pre-register. Pre-registration is by phone: 314-454-KIDS, option 3.

The third activity is for dads on Father’s Day, Sunday June 16. Special prize drawings will be held at 1:30, 2:30, 3:30 and 4:30 for all Dads who have brought their kids with them on Father’s Day. Dads who bring their kids to the Creve Coeur Days Information booth may register for each drawing. You must be present when the drawings are held to win the prize. Prizes include tickets to Cardinal Baseball games, a $25 gift certificate from Dierbergs, free golf at Creve Coeur Golf Course, free ride tickets and more. Creve Coeur Days has been an annual community event for the past 46 years. Money raised at the giant carnival featuring carnival rides, food and game booths and entertainment, is donated to area charities and philanthropic endeavors.
