City Spokesperson: Mayor Expected To Leave Hospital Today

Dielmann, 81, underwent open heart surgery Thursday.

Creve Coeur Mayor Harold Dielmann was expected to leave the hospital sometime Wednesday, less than a week after. That news came late Wednesday morning, through city spokesperson Melissa Weiss. A hospital spokesperson could not confirm that information.

Dielmann, 81, had surgery at last Thursday to repair a leaking heart valve. He is expected to be absent from city council proceedings until early April.

On Monday, Councilman A.J. Wang, now serving as Acting Mayor, shared a cell phone picture he took at the hospital when he went to visit Dielmann earlier in the day. There was also a giant get-well card making the rounds at the meeting.
