Special Delivery Update: Creve Coeur Hospital's New Spin on '11 in 11'

The St. Louis Cardinals' mantra of '11 in 11' became well-known in the region as the team made a drive culminating last month in the franchise's 11th World Series title, but a Creve Coeur hospital may be next in line when it comes to experience with the number 11.

Doctors at delivered Matthew David Andrzejewski Friday morning (November 11, 2011) at 11:11 a.m. He weighed in at nine pounds and 13 ounces, the second child for Dan and Amy Andrzejewski, of St. Peters.

Amy said the child was due November 12 but that doctors scheduled her for a c-section delivery a day earlier. "They picked the 11th and the nurse there at the office thought it would be pretty funny to schedule it around 10:45 that maybe there was a chance that it would be born at at 11 o'clock," Amy, who works for Edward Jones in Maryland Heights, said.

Dan, an employee at Anheuser Busch, said the idea of 11:11 became a discussion point as minutes ticked down to the delivery. The couple said their 3 year-old daughter Mia, came up with her little brother's first name, and that his middle name was meant to honor a friend involved in a car accident in addition to his maternal grandfather David Roby, of Wildwood.           

Numerologists may be interested to know that this isn't the first time this year Mercy has delivered a baby with a special tie to the number 11.

Amy Andrzejewski said besides having a good story to tell one day, it will be an easy one for Matthew to remember, too.
