Creve Coeur Remembers September 11, 2001

In weather eerily similar to that of the same day 11 years ago, Creve Coeur remembers the day terrorists attacked America.

Members of the department and the came together Tuesday morning to salute the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, including the first responders who lost their lives that day.

Creve Coeur's first responders stood at attention with the American flag soaring above as dispatchers countywide tolled bells over the radio and recited the firefighter's prayer.

Later in the morning, Chiropractic Sports Care & Rehab marked its entry as a member of the Creve Coeur-Olivette Chamber of Commerce with a ceremonial ribbon cutting that also included a raffle to benefit BACKSTOPPERS.

The Creve Coeur area was also represented on Wall Street Tuesday. Eric Greitens, a graduate who went on to become a Navy SEAL before founding The Mission Continues, an organization which puts veterans to work with community service, was part of contingent of people who rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange.
