Delmar Gardens Plan Back Before Planning & Zoning Panel Tonight

The senior living center's proposal was continued from the panel's November 5 meeting.

Delmar Gardens' plans for 28 acres of land on Ladue Road near Interstate 270 in Creve Coeur will be back before the city of Creve Coeur's Planning and Zoning Commission Monday night.

The proposal, which calls for assisted and independent living facilities, along with single-family homes on the site just west of the Interstate, has been criticized by neighbors who say the project doesn't fit the character of the Ladue Road corridor or the city's comprehensive plan.

Discussion on the project, was held over November 5 because the city's traffic study and an analysis from the Creve Coeur Fire Protection District were not complete at that time.

Both are now complete and discussed in the agenda packet for tonight's meeting, which you can find here on the city's website (scroll down to page 9).

According to the staff report, city officials are looking for feedback from commissioners on a variety of issues presented in the proposal, most notably Delmar Gardens' contention about Creve Coeur's Comprehensive Plan, which city staff has cited in recommending against the Delmar project. The developer believes the Comprehensive Plan is outdated. City planners say conditions on the site and the greater community desires have not changed.
