Easter Bunny Makes A Stop In Creve Coeur A Week Ahead Of Schedule

Hundreds turned out for the annual Easter Egg Hunt at De Smet Sunday.

hosted its 20th annual alumni Easter egg hunt Sunday,  immediately following Palm Sunday Mass.

The traditional egg hunt was followed by a light brunch and pictures with the Easter Bunny and the De Smet Spartan.

George Hasser said he thought this year’s crowd was the largest since he started the event in 1991 as Director of Alumni Relations.

About 600 attended and more than 3,000 eggs were scattered across the football field.

“The first year we had about 50 people show up and we had it in the chapel. Some here were here the first year we had it in ’91,” said Hasser.

Tim Thompson, a 1984 alum, attended with his son, Jack Thompson, who spent some of the time coloring a picture during brunch.

We'll have more highlights from this year's Hunt in Thursday's Viewfinder.
