Good Times on Tap for Creve Coeur Residents This Weekend

There is plenty in town and nearby when it comes to family fun.

The fun starts Friday evening, with ideas to stimulate both body and mind. Just in time for spring!

  • Where/When: . Friday, 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Why Go: Poet and performance artist Rennell Parker will lead young poets in a celebration of creativity. A short poetry workshop kicks things off. Teens can polish their work or create new pieces on the spot.

  • Where/When: , Maryland Heights. Friday, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
  • Why Go: This event will have you and your kids seeing stars! View planets, stars, nebulae, galaxies and globular clusters. If it's cloudy, the Pattonville Observatory offers a planetarium program featuring with a 360-degree hemispheric screen.
  • Pricing: Free

READ ACROSS AMERICA

  • Where/When: . Saturday, 2 p.m.
  • Why Go: Read Across America is a program that aims to spark a love of books in kids. This year's program also coincides with the birthday of Dr. Seuss! There will be stories, games, arts and crafts and more. 
  • Pricing: Free. 

CELEBRATE MATH, EDUCATION, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY WEEK

  • Why Go: Sponsored by SCOPEMISSOURI, this event presents opportunities to learn about summer camps, internships, scholarships and career possibilities tied to science and technology. Hands-on activities and refreshments available.

  • Where/When: Manchester United Methodist Church, Manchester. Sunday, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
  • Why Go: Your family will get a kick out of this presentation of the musical We Like Sheep, based on the parable of The Lost Sheep. The cast is comprised of fourth and fifth-graders.
  • Pricing: Free

SKATE INTO SPRING

  • Where/When:  Saturday and Sunday, 2:15 to 3:45 p.m.
  • Why Go: Have your cake and eat it, too: warmer temps on the outside after you leave the ice.
  • Pricing: $3 for Creve Coeur and Maryland Heights residents. Non-residents: $4.50. Special rates for seniors. Skate rental $2.
