Million Dollar Donors Help Harvey Kornblum Food Pantry

A ceremony opening the Harvey Kornblum Food Pantry at the Max and Drew Erlich Center is scheduled for next month.

Jewish Family & Children's Services has announced that The Harvey Kornblum Food Pantry has received a major gift which will help efforts to relocate to a new facility in Creve Coeur.

Late last month, the agency announced that local philanthropists Max and Drew Erlich agreed to a $1 million gift to the food pantry, which has seen the need for its service outpace capacity.

According to a press release announcing the donation, the current food pantry site has typically seen 2500 customers a month until the current economic slowdown has boosted that number to 5000 a month, from around the St. Louis area.
