Police Clarification: No Evidence Of DWI in Fatal Crash Involving Missouri Baptist Student

An investigation into the February crash is still underway and could take months to complete.

Chesterfield Police are clarifying comments passed on to a reporter Monday regarding the investigation into a fatal accident last month which claimed the life of a baseball player.

Public Information Officer Steve Lewis told Patch Tuesday that there was no information to suggest alchohol was involved in the February crash that killed Clayton Pfeiffer.

Pfeiffer's vehicle was struck by another car February 21 on Olive Boulevard near Creve Coeur Mill Road.

Lewis said the driver of the other vehicle was arrested on suspicion of Involuntary Manslaughter, but that toxicology reports and accident reconstruction work would not be completed for two to three months. No charges have been filed by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.

Patch regrets any confusion or miscommunication.
