Pujols Foundation Event Christens Missouri Baptist Sports Complex

Kids, not the World Series, were the focus of Creve Coeur event Sunday.

will wait until Thursday to formally dedicate the school's new $11 million Carl and Deloris Petty Sports and Recreation Complex, but on Sunday night, a group of special kids had a chance to break in the center's basketball court.

The school hosted the Pujols Family Foundation's first All-Star Basketball game. The foundation has been dedicated to helping those with Down Syndrome. Albert Pujols' All Stars included teens and young adults with Down Syndrome. The St. Louis slugger, fresh off the team's World Series Parade and Celebration at Busch Stadium Sunday afternoon, also took part in the event and was joined by Matt Holliday.

Other celebrities on hand for the event, which also included the Missouri Baptist University varsity basketball squads, included former Cardinals Kerry Robinson and Mike Matheny, along with former Rams CB and Creve Coeur resident Aeneas Williams, along with Olympian Jackie-Joyner Kersee and Harlem Globetrotter Meadowlark Lemon.
