Temple Israel To Honor Reverend Earl E. Nance, Jr. Friday

The Creve Coeur congregation will recognize Nance with a Malachi Award for Interfaith Relations and Understanding

Congregation Temple Israel is moving forward with plans to honor Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church Reverend Earl E. Nance, Jr. Friday, despite the pastor's recent heart attack.

KSDK: Fund Established to help with Nance's Long-Term Care

Nance's wife Viola will accept the Congregation's Malachi Award for Interfaith Relations and Understanding on his behalf during a 7:30 p.m. service at TI which will also honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., according to a press release.

“Rev. Nance is a true leader in promoting dialogue in the interfaith community and across racial divides," Temple Israel Rabbi Amy Feder said in the statement. He is most deserving of this honor, which recognizes the importance of interfaith cooperation and contributions to promote positive programs of religious, social and humanitarian significance in the greater St. Louis area.”

Greater Mt. Carmel's Praise Connection Choir will perform at the event, which is free and open to the public
