Cancer Survivor, Marathoner Teri Griege to Appear on 'Today Show'

The Creve Coeur woman who has qualified for "ironman" competitions will tell her story to Hoda and Kathy Lee this morning.

She's survived marathons, the grueling Ironman World Championship—and stage 4 colon cancer. Teri Griege of Creve Coeur will now be telling some of her story on Thursday on The Today Show when she appears with hosts Hoda Kotb and Kathy Lee Gifford.

The broadcast is scheduled to appear at about 11 a.m., according to Griege's website, where she says she's scheduled to discuss "colon cancer and Colon Cancer Awareness Month as well as her work with the Colon Cancer Alliance."

The Today Show airs on KSDK-Ch. 5.

Creve Coeur Patch told Griege's story in December 2011, describing how she had struggled in the Louisville Ironman competition in 2009, after which she learned she had colon cancer. After treatment, she was selected to compete in the Ironman World Championship 2011.
