Welcome back to another week of news, information, and connecting with your neighbors here on Creve Coeur Patch. If you're a Cardinals fan, you can look at Sunday night's World Series Game 4 with this silver lining—at least there will be baseball again in St. Louis this season. How have you been taking in the action, and where? We'd love to stop by some of the hot spots later this week.
We know people are serious about their baseball around here, but there will be some serious topics up for discussion this week.
Trash: The City Council is scheduled to vote Monday night on the fate of a proposed contract extension with trash hauler Allied Waste. The firm has suggested a deal which would provide the city with more than $100,000 in savings. While citizens and competitors are , a staff report still suggests "Allied Waste has the most experience in our area."
Heroin: We've been telling you over the last few months about the concerns a variety of area stakeholders have about the in the St. Louis metro area. Monday, hosts a The time of the event was adjusted to avoid conflict with Cardinals baseball.
Retirement: Ladue School Board members will vote Monday on a plan which would sweeten the pot for some district staff if they were to take early retirement after the current school year. Under the plan, retirees would be entitled to three years of district-paid medical coverage. Some of those who take the option would likely not have their positions replaced as the district plans for potential budget cuts.
Now, onto some lighter items:
We're making plans Thursday afternoon to stop by the Business Expo at the Jewish Community Center being co-sponsored by the Creve Coeur-Olivette Chamber of Commerce and the St. Louis Regional Chamber & Growth Association.
Again, the time will not conflict with Cardinal baseball, if a Game 7 is necessary.
