This Week In Creve Coeur: All Star Games, A De Smet Spartan in Japan, and Budgets

A preview of what's ahead this week here at Creve Coeur Patch.

It will be a busy week ahead for Creve Coeur, as area municipalities vote on fiscal budgets for the coming year.

Monday, the City Council and the Ladue School district are both expected to take up a budget vote for 2011-2012 spending plans. The Pattonville School district is expected to do the same on Tuesday. We'll have reporters at each meeting.

This week sees another round of all-star games featuring recent high school graduates. Monday will see another baseball game featuring prep standouts at Busch Stadium. Thursday night it will be soccer's turn, as boys and girls squads will be on display during the 2011 High School Senior All-Star Soccer Games at Anheuser-Busch Center in Fenton. , and will be well-represented.

This week, you'll also meet a dietitian who has been honored for her work educating patients, and we'll catch up with a former Spartan who has been earning a living in Japan, despite the devastating earthquake and tsunami which struck the Pacific Rim this spring.
