Opponents of genetically modified foods launched a worldwide day of action targeting Creve Coeur-based Monsanto Saturday.

While activists were busy posting links to coverage of protests around the world, Monsanto's social media efforts were trying to defend the company and retweet links to commentary debunking opposition.
