A Creve Coeur woman shares important facts and her own story about heart health.

I consider myself an educated woman but I had no idea that heart disease was my greatest health threat. I am lucky to be alive. On April 27, 2008, I became a survivor of cardiac arrest at the young age of 51. Once I learned the above statistics, I became a woman on a mission. That mission is to inform women that heart disease is NOT an exclusive men's club as I had once thought. I was recently informed at a heart talk that more women suffer heart attacks than men. My grandfathers died in their early sixties of heart disease and my father had bypass surgery at the age of 49. I am the first woman in my family with heart disease and I want to make sure I am the last!

6.  Heart disease is highly preventable.

More to come. Learn how to save your life or the life of a woman that you love.
