The Journey 2013 -- Nishmah's Signature Pre-Passover Event for Women & Girls

Back by popular demand, Nishmah’s pre-Passover event, The Journey, returns to inspire and gather girls and women of all ages from all over the St. Louis community on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Jewish Community Center’s Staenberg Family Complex in Creve Coeur.

The event begins at 5:30pm with a Passover Expo, which will include creative, hands-on learning stations and ideas to enhance your Seder experience. There will be Passover food tasting and recipe sharing as well as other yummy, non-Passover appetizers. Passover ritual items and gifts, along with jewelry and other kinds of artwork will be for sale by local boutiques and women artists.

The Journey continues with a formal program at 7:00pm, which includes a light dinner and an inspirational evening of story, song and dance. The program, created by Nishmah women, will be led by international musical guest Peri Smilow. This is an opportunity for women of all backgrounds and knowledge to get energized and inspired for the upcoming holiday.

To help eradicate injustice in the world around us, this year’s social action component at The Journey will focus on the practice of micro lending. Guests will hear personal stories of women who are achieving freedom through micro loans, and will have the opportunity to purchase some of their products.

Event co-chairs Jill Mirowitz Mogil and April Levison, along with Honorary Chair, Barbara Mirowitz, are excited to share this unique event with the St. Louis community. A diverse committee of 45 women have been busy planning this experience, and invite everyone to bring friends, mothers, sisters, daughters and granddaughters to St. Louis’ most exciting intergenerational event.

Participant fee is $54 and includes kosher gourmet appetizers, dinner and desserts. All ages are invited to attend. Student and senior rates are available upon request.
