Celebrate Creve Coeur's Success at Going Green This Week

Creve Coeur is celebrating its EPA "Green Power Community" designation Tuesday, June 25 at Millennium Park. The community is invited to attend!

"The city obtained GPC status by successfully meeting the EPA’s target goal of switching 3% of their energy use to clean power sources through the installation of solar electric systems and the enrollment in Ameren’s Renewable Energy Purchase program, Pure Power," the release stated.

The goal of the city's year-long effort was to educate and encourage support of sources of renewable energy and to reduce the city’s carbon footprint.

The community is invited to celebrate the designation from from 5 - 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 25 at the Millenium Park “Tappmeyer House”.

The EPA will present the city with the award and street signs that will be places around the city acknowledging the new status. 

There will be food, fun for the entire family and eco-friendly demonstrations, according to the announcement.
