Craig Elementary receives CHARACTERplus Bully Prevention grant through StateFarm

Craig Elementary gets Bully Prevention training through CHARACTERplus and StateFarm.

Thanks to a grant from StateFarm, CHARACTERplus is able to serve through The CHARACTERplus Way: Bully Prevention program. The program started at the beginning of the year and the school is already reaping the benefits.  Students, class by class, discussed and voted on the top ten traits that help them learn together and care about each other, such things as integrity, respect, politeness, kindness and perseverance. Last Wednesday night, parents, PTO and community members voted for five out of those ten. The final five traits will provide a foundation for class conversations, adult role modeling, service and a proactive approach to bully prevention.

CHARACTERplus is vital to the school’s success, providing intensive training for a school leadership team,  on-site coaching, surveys that assess the sense of belonging, safety, and voice and choice among students, and data-driven planning.
