I never saw Stan Musial play baseball. In fact, my only memories of him are at baseball games when he would make an appearance and wave to the crowd.
But those memories of seeing the smiles on the fans, Cardinals players, and visiting players faces are what I remember most. He was a living legend and I was there to see how he could bring us all together at that moment in time.
In 2009, I got engaged to my wife and to say baseball plays a rol in our relationship is an understatement. I proposed to her with some help from her nieces and nephews with baseballs. Each ball had a word on it and the final ball had the ring in it.We have spent countless days at the ballpark and even plan trips to other cities just to get to a ballpark.
When we thought about getting our wedding pictures done, Busch Stadium was a no brainer. Not only inside but outside the stadium. We got our pictures done before our wedding ceremony so I thought it would be fitting to see my bride for the first time by the Stan Musial statue. After all, he was "The Man" and I am the man for my wife.
Even though Stan didn't know it, he played a vital role in our wedding pictures and will always be a part of our life just like he is a part so many Cardinals fans lives.
