Creve Coeur Green Power Challenge: Summer Update

The Creve Coeur Green Power Challenge is gaining momentum as more residents and businesses sign up for Pure Power and are installing solar systems.

The Creve Coeur Green Power Challenge team members have been busy hitting the streets of the community and spreading the Green Power word.  Thank you to the residents who have recently signed up for the Pure Power program and who have installed solar systems on their homes.  MicroGrid Energy has installed solar systems on four residential homes and is working with additional residents and businesses that are planning on installing solar soon.  Stay tuned for more information!!

We also have a new business that has joined the Challenge!  American Carnival Mart/Partyland a.k.a. Good Times, Inc. has been working on going green for a while. They participate in a business recycling program and have retrofitted their entire store and warehouse with energy efficient lighting and motion sensors to conserve power, but they aren’t stopping there. As part of their efforts of being good stewards of the environment they’ve committed to becoming a Gold Pure Power Partner. This commitment creates the demand for 72,000 kWh of energy per year to be added to our grid from Missouri Wind farms and saves 109,455 pounds of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere, which is the equivalent of taking 9.7 gasoline powered cars off the road every day for a year!  Now that’s something worth celebrating!!  Thank you to American Carnival Mart/Partyland a.k.a. Good Times, Inc. for setting an example for other businesses.

If you‘re looking for a place to stay cool or would like more information on the Creve Coeur EPA Green Power Community Challenge you can visit with a Pure Power representative at the Creve Coeur Ice Arena starting this week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2 – 4 or Fridays from 10:15 - 12:15.
