Donald Danforth Plant Science Center Joins Creve Coeur's Green Power Challenge

The Creve Coeur Green Power Challenge is gaining momentum. Donald Danforth Plant Science Center joins the Challenge to help Creve Coeur obtain its goal!!

I’m so proud to say I live in Creve Coeur! The Creve Coeur Green Power Challenge is moving right along thanks to great community leaders like the . They are the latest eco-hero’s to join the Challenge to help Creve Coeur become a member of an elite group of Green Power Communities across the nation. The Danforth Center has been a supporter of Pure Power since 2009, but has decided to increase their green power purchases to offset at least 7% of the electric usage of the Danforth Center by supporting the generation of 980,000 kWh of renewable energy. Their commitment will prevent 1,489,806 pounds of CO2 from entering the atmosphere and is equivalent to taking 133 gasoline powered cars off the road for a year!  Thank you Danforth…you make us proud!! Stay tuned for more eco-friendly projects at the Danforth Center.

Join us for a free continental breakfast while we recognize our latest eco heroes, Danforth Plant Science Center and , as we kick-off the Creve Coeur Green Power Community Challenge (GPCC) in the main lobby at Mercy Hospital, 615 S. Ballas Road on April 25th at 8:30am. Help us kick-off the Challenge and celebrate Mercy hospital and Danforth Plant Science Center being eco-heroes in our community while learning more about the Green Power Challenge and how you too can help Creve Coeur meet the Challenge. The continental breakfast is free of charge and open to Creve Coeur businesses and residents who are interested in learning how they can help the City achieve this prestigious distinction.
