People can nominate a project online at www.stlgrown.com from today through April 21. Winning entries will be determined by public vote on the Grow St. Louis Facebook page from May 6 through May 19.

For this round, Monsanto has increased the number of winners from three to five and increased the prize pool to $100,000 – so each of the five winners will receive a $20,000 grant to help them “grow St. Louis.”

“Monsanto is increasing the Grow St. Louis prize pool in response to the incredible support we have received from the community so far for our program,” said Cole Waggoner, Grow St. Louis program lead. “It has been truly inspiring to see how eager St. Louisans are to support their local non-profit organizations. We hope to make an even bigger impact through the program moving forward.”

The Grow St. Louis program has seen widespread participation from the St. Louis community. More than 400 local non-profit organizations have been nominated and nearly 100,000 people have voted since the program launched in 2011. Monsanto has awarded $150,000 in total prizes to the 12 winning organizations through the first four rounds of the program. Videos highlighting the 12 past winners are available on the “Meet the Winners” page of www.stlgrown.com.

“Grow St. Louis is just one of the many ways Monsanto contributes to the St. Louis community,” said Waggoner. “We are proud to be St. Louis grown. Whether it’s through donations or volunteerism – our company and our employees are always looking for ways to stay active in the community and improve lives here at home.”
