Northeast Students Have a Positive Impact on Our School and Community

Positive stories about Northeast students and their accomplishments.

I always enjoy sharing positive stories about the accomplishments of Northeast students. This week, thanks to e-mails from teachers, parents, and members of our community, I have four great stories to share with you!

The first story included in this week’s e-news is about Daijha Wilkes (8th) who, in the spring, was recognized for her selection as a Granting Dreams winner. She received $150.00 from the Parkway Alumni Association so she could participate in the track and field “Race for Redemption.”

The second story highlights—yet another—charitable act by Sam Klein (7th) who recently raised money and collected donations for the St. Patrick’s Center and has been asked to speak at Rankin Jordan Children’s Hospital.

Our third story is about a former Northeast student who was recently in the news for writing and publishing a book about athletes and their inspiring stories. Matthew Pearlman (9th) has been interviewing athletes for years. He has taken the inspiring lessons he has learned from these athletes and compiled them into a book: That’s Great Advice!

Finally, this year’s Student Council officers are determined to make a difference at Northeast and in their community. If you click on the story link for Student Council, you will see all the ideas they have brainstormed for the upcoming school year. If there is something you see in this list that you could support, please e-mail Dr. Grace Lee or me.

And, If you know of a Northeast student who is doing some great things that can be shared in the e-news, please send me an e-mail!

Enjoy the week!
